Slacking

To all of my faithful readers, I am sorry it has taken me over a week to post anything new. But in my defense, I have been crazy busy!

Dean started school on Tuesday (11th). He got on the bus for the very first time and off he went to first grade. He did great, the neighbor boy showed him the ropes on the bus, he has lots of friends from kindergarten in his class and seems to be doing fine. Although he has already decided he does not like homework. It is crazy that in first grade they have homework 5 days a week as well as a math and spelling test every week. First grade sure has changed since I was there.

I started school Tuesday as well. That is that I started my job at the preschool. So far it has went very well. It is hectic but when in a room with 11 3-4 year olds that is to be expected I suppose. I thought I would only be working 2 1/2 hours. It has been changed to 3.75 hours. And my pay was even a little more than I had thought based on what I know some other preschool assistants are making. I think this is because I do not get benefits but with the military benefits I have I dont really need them anyways so it balances out.

I have figure out though that I don't think it is going to be feasible for Dean to ride the bus to school in the morning. This week the bus has gotten to our house at about 7:35. I am expected at the school, in my classroom at 7:50. It is taking everything I have to get their in time and then I feel so rushed and I hate starting my day out like that. So I am thinking I am going to take Dean to school when I go then he will ride the bus home in the afternoon. Going to try it rest of the week then make a decision over the weekend.

Ryan picked Dean up yesterday after he got off the bus and they went back to his place and hung out for a couple hours. had some dinner played some video games and just got to spend some time together. Dean had a great time and I am just glad that Ryan is sticking to his word and still being part of Dean's life.

Trying to get things here caught up and trying to get things set up so it is not so overwhelming doing it all on my own. Trying to get a new schedule worked out for myself so that I can make working work while still getting things done here at home.

Well thats it in a nutshell. Will post some pics of Dean going to school soon.

Elisha,

Somehow, during all the wedding stuff, I missed the post about Ryan. After reading the most recent I scrolled down and read it.

I can't imagine how hard all of this is right now. Ending a relationship, starting a new job, and Dean going off to first grade. Even one of those is big but you are going through all three.

I am so proud of you and you continuously amaze me. I am behind you all the way and will pray for you daily. I know this is all a struggle...time management wise.

It won't be long and you will have a routine. I pray that it happens sooner than later.

Take care of yourself and the weekend will be here soon!

Elisha,
Like Betsy, I am trying to imagine how difficult these life changes must be as they occur all at the same time. But I've known you for several years now - and my thought has been that you can accomplish anything. Your faith, your dedication, your steadfastly being a mom to Dean....you are amazing. But I know that we all need a bit of help from time to time so you are in my prayers - and the prayers of many, no doubt, for strength and that you will enjoy your new career and that the life changes coming your way will prove to be a blessing after all.
Hugs my friend,
Sue
