We had a great time. We were glad to get home when we got home but we had a great time while we were gone.
We left Friday morning and ended up in southern GA Friday night. Saturday we continued on to Ocala, Florida and spent the afternoon at Silver Springs. We saw lots of gators, road the glass bottom boat and spent a lot of time just walking thru the park looking at all the wildlife, ie.. birds, gators, bears, giraffes, tortoises, and even cougars.
Sunday morning we drove to the coast to Ft. Myers and spent the afternoon at a Spring Training game watching the Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Blue Jays. This was Deans first Major League game just in time for him to get ready to play his first season of Little League Baseball.
We spent Sunday evening playing on the beach, building sand castles and collecting shells.
Monday was spent fishing about 40 miles out in the Gulf. I spent most of the time (6 hours) laying inside the boat sleeping in order to not be sick. Dean and Ryan had a great time though. Dean couldnt really fish as the poles were about 3 times his size but he spent the whole time going around to see what everyone was catching. (there were about 75 people on the boat so he had a lot of fish to keep track of)
Tuesday we went to the Air force Museum at Eglin AFB and were even lucky enough to get to watch a retirement ceremony taking place at the museum for a Senior Master Sergeant. We went fishing that afternoon, this time I was able to fish as we were on land, fishing off the beach. Dean fished a little but mostly built sand castles and played int he edge of the water.
Wednesday we went to a Citrus Grove. Got to sample lots of fruit and juice and take a tour thru the grove.
Thursday after the tornado warning was over and we were no longer afraid we were going tog et blown away, we went to the fishing museum then spent rest of the day on the beach playing.
Friday as soon as the tornado warnings were gone (AGAIN) we headed home and were home by 8 pm.
I will post pictures later.
I am still tired from vacation and still finding sand EVERYWHERE but we had a lot of fun and I think Dean will remember his first trip to Florida for a very long time!
I will post a slide show of pictures!

Elisha,
Florida is a wonderful place to take a little boy - so much to see and do there and the weather is perfect at this time of year - except for the tornadoes.
Glad you had a happy and safe trip.
Blessings and hugs,
Sue
