6 years

Dean had his sixth birthday last Friday, March 20th. We had my parents, grandma and sister and her family over Thursday evening for dinner and cake. We had Dean's favorites for dinner, BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. I baked him a cake (strawberry flavored) that was shaped like a Nascar car and decorated to look like his favorite drivers car. (Kyle Busch M&M car).

He got some great gifts. He got 2 giant T-Rex's, they are about 2 foot tall each. He got another set of tinker toys because the ones he got at Christmas weren't enough to build the giant things, sand buckets, a couple movies, some money from a very generous grandfather (some of which will be spent on a couple toys, rest of it will be put in the bank.) He of course got some more Hot Wheel's cars, coloring books, and a trip to Florida for Spring Break which just happened to start on his birthday. More on that in another post.

I sit here a week later and wonder how on Earth that sweet little baby I brought home from the hospital almost 6 years ago can possibly be almost 4 foot tall, 6 years old and in kindergarten.

We have been thru so much together in the past 6 years and I can not imagine a day of it without that sweet little boy by my side. Now don't get me wrong; he is ornery, bull-headed, strong-willed, and thinks he knows it all but he is also one of the sweetest, most loving little boys you will ever meet. When he is in a good mood, you couldn't ask for more. He loves to help and loves to give hugs and kisses. He has the funnest personality and loves to make people laugh. He likes to sing and dance and be goofy.

He gets so much of his looks and personality from his daddy and for that I am so thankful.

Even though he tests me and pushes me constantly, I couldn't ask for a better or sweeter little boy.

Oh, don't you know how happy Sean is to watch his little boy grow up. I love that baby picture. Can't wait to see the Florida pics!
