The work seems unending. This summer has been unusually busy. Seems we have had little down time.
We have worked on getting all of the dirt from around the pond moved so it is ready for landscaping. Now we are working on finding perennials grasses and wildflower type plants to plant. Hoping to be able to get some on sale the end of the season since it is already so late in the summer.
We also had the pool installed and now are working on building a deck. We had hoped to have it finished by Saturday in time for Madalynn's birthday party but that won't happen. It won't be finished until next week and that if the weather cooperates and other people stop asking us to help them!
I have also spent a lot of time canning. Which I love doing and I love having those fresh tastes that came from my own kitchen throughout the winter. But it is time consuming and messes up the kitchen for sure.
Also been busy getting Dean ready for school which starts on Tuesday. We have been busy getting school supplies and school clothes and school registration. He is excited and so am I. Although it is sad to think that he is that old already.
We have tried sneaking in some fun things this summer. Been camping twice and will be camping again Labor Day weekend. This time in Michigan and this will also include a fishing trip. We will be going with my parents. We went last year and had a blast. The weather was great, campgrounds were great, and fishing was unbelievable. I love fishing, and this was absolutely amazing. King Salmon, weighing 18-20 pounds! The only down side was that I was very sick on the boat. When I did not have a fishing pole in my hands, I was hanging over the side of the boat. This year I will be taking motion sickness medicine and hope to not have that problem.
