This past Tuesday I went turkey hunting for the first time. Unfortunately I didn't have any luck but i did have a really good time. We got out to the hunting property at about 6am. The sun was just starting to come out. We got into the hunting blind(a camo tent) and waited. It was so peaceful sitting and listening to all the different birds chirping. It seemed like there were 100 different kinds of birds. We saw 7 deer that morning. We heard lots of turkeys, called them and they gobbled back but just couldn't get any to come into the field. We plan to go again before the end of turkey season and if not then we will try during fall turkey season.
Oh yeah.... we are finally getting grass to grow! we put some fertilizer down and scratched up the surface of the yard and finally have grass growing. Now, the yard isn't green yet by no means, but it is growing so there is hope yet for a green yard this summer.
We also bought the first of our garden plants. It stormed last night and today so we haven't gotten them in the ground yet but we have tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis, jalapeƱo and green pepper plants to plant as soon as we can get to the garden.
Tomorrow is Ryan's birthday so everyone is coming over and we are cooking out. Should be fun.
