Wow, it's so hard to believe that its been 5 years since I sat on the couch watching the beginning of the war while unknowingly being in labor. So much has happened in our lives in those 5 years. We have gone thru some horrible nightmares and have had some great things in our lives as well.
Dean will be 5 tomorrow. Hard to believe. I went to the hospital at about 4 am. The only thing on the TV was war coverage. So while I went thru labor, we sat in the hospital room and watched the war play out on the tv screen. Little did we know at that time just how close to home that war would come. Our lives will never be the same. Dean will never know his dad.
I still have a very dear friend in Iraq. He was there with Shawn in 2003 and is back there now. I pray for him every single day that he is safe and comes home soon. I pray this for all of our brave men and women serving our country. May God bless and protect them all.
