Just returned from the Dr.'s office. Dean has strep throat for the 2nd time in a month! Dr. says if he gets it a total of 4 times this season, the insurance company will want his tonsils taken out. Hoping it doesn't come to that!
Did he finish all of his antibiotic the last time? Do you have a dog? Our oldest spent one year getting strep over and over again. Our doctor told us the family dog can harbor strep, and pass it back to the kids. You can have your dog tested and treated, just like your child, so that the cycle gets broken. Does his best buddy have the same problem? Maybe they need a break from each other. :)
Melody, yes he finished his anitbiotic. was supposed to take it for 10 days, actually took it for 11 because I miss counted. No we do not have a dog, only pet at this point is a gold fish. But that is good to know about the dog passing strep. Had never heard of that! His friends have had other things but not strep. Thankfully he hasn't caught what his best buddy had, He had influenza B! I have noticed the Dr. had him on a lower dosage of meds last time so maybe that was the problem and this round of meds takes care of it once and for all!
