Dean has Little League sign-ups on Wednesday. He is excited and so am I. He has such an arm on him for a 5 year old. ( He will be 6 on the 20th ) He can hit pretty good too, just is better at pitching.
We picked out his cleats today. Will wait for the other equipment once we sign up and get the list of official things we need. I think he will probably get most of the stuff he needs for his birthday.
I don't talk a lot about Dean's dad on here but I can't write a post about Dean playing baseball without thinking about Shawn. When we first met, maybe one of the first things he told me about what that he loved playing ball. We spent a many o' nights at the ball field and i even learned how to keep score for the team. I loved it. It was his dream that when we had a child, that it would be a boy that he could teach to play ball. I even have his bats, a couple balls and a glove for Dean gets older.
It saddens me so much that he isn't here to teach Dean how to play ball but I know he will be out there on the field right beside Dean at every practice and every game.
Events like this in Deans life make me miss him so much.

You can bet that Shawn is helping Dean. No doubt. Your post has given me chill bumps.
Advice - Buy TWO of everything! Two pants, two shirts, two socks, etc. I won't go into the details of why but just do it.
Take lots of pictures, even at practice. And PLEASE post them.

Elisha,
Oh my friend - he is with Dean and with you every step of the way.
I can't believe Dean will be six - oh my gosh all those nights in MM chat when you had to check on him in the playpen or while he was playing in the other room.
He will be great at this little league thing - how can he not with his daddy beside him and his mommy to support him and cheer him on?
Blessings and love,
Sue
