Snow everywhere you look

I just realized I never updated after the last round of snow.

We ended up getting about 1/4 inch of ice on top of our 4 inches of snow then another 8-9 inches of snow fell on top of that. It has been beautiful outside as long as you are not seeing it from inside a car. The roads have been horrible and many are still not drivable. We have a lot of wind and a lot of open fields which means we have a lot of drifting and no matter how much the DOT plows the roads, by the next morning they are drifted shut again.

The kids went to school on Monday and have not been since. the roads are just simply too bad for the buses to make it. We are in a very rural area.

Thankfully there was never enough ice to cause a loss of electricity. And thankfully for us, we have a fireplace and a generator so when the power does go out, while it is still a pain in the neck, we can still stay warm and function in the house.

Elisha,

I am glad to know you still have power. Keep that generator close by! Our schools were all closed last week and about 8 schools still do not have electricity.

I'll keep watching for yours posts for updates! :)
