As you know Dean is in Kindergarten.
Dean got his report card on Friday. There were three things on it that he needed to work on but overall he did fantastic.
The things that needed work were :
he still needed to remember and be able to write our address.
(address is very long!)
Be able to tie his shoes(we have spent hours working on this and it just wasn't clicking)
Be able to skip (have no idea what this has to do with being in school)
As of last night he can now tie his shoes and write our address. He just cant skip. When he tries it looks like hes trying to run/hop with a weird limp. I figure if the only thing on his report card that isn't up to par is his skipping ability then he is doing fine.
Today he came home from school and had worked on first grade math at school today and did very well. He may be mine but he is a smart cookie. Hopefully he does better in math than I ever did. My skills were always in the English/vocabulary area.

I just got home from TX and realized that you didn't receive my reply to one of your posts on my blog.
You wrote;
I am sitting here at 8 am in the mornign with my family thinking I am crazy. I was fine one minute now sit here sobbing.
So Happy fot you and all of the families who were lucky enough to see their loved one come home last night.
I tried to e-mail back, but didn't realize that I was sending to a "no reply" mailbox at Blogger.
My response was;
Please know that those of us who were celebrating were more than aware of those of you who did not have someone come home. We know that the sacrifices of people like Sean, and you, and Dean, enabled our soldiers' deployments to be safer and helped them to come home to us. We can't ever make that up to you. We can only hope you will accept our thanks, and our commitment to live lives worthy of those sacrifices.
Thanks, Elisha
PS That may also explain why I never heard from you when we were in IN for Thanksgiving. I e-mailed you at that "no reply" mailbox!
Hi Elisha,
Ok,now I am going to tell you a closely kept secret about me, and about skipping. I hope it makes you laugh (do not be afraid :).
In kindergarten, during nap time, I never got to take a nap. And why, you may ask? Because the teacher used to take me aside to teach me how to skip. Over and over, day after day. And did I learn how to skip? Eventually - in the living room of my childhood home when I was 12 years old. Yes. 12. And I have been skipping happily for nearly 50 years now. So, if I can learn, ANYBODY can learn - especially Dean.
And by the way, anyone would know that you excelled in English - your writing skills are awesome. Sounds like Dean is doing great - Shawn must surely be looking down on him with pride.
GO DEAN! Beat Suelaurie!
Hugs my friend,
Sue
