My weekend

We left here Friday afternoon as soon as Dean was out of school and headed to Kentucky along with my sister and her family (husband and 2 daughters) and my parents. We went to Rough River in Kentucky to my aunt and uncle's cabin. We had a great time. We spent Friday night, after the kids were put to bed, playing games. It was a lot of fun and a lot of laughs.

Saturday we made a huge breakfast then loaded up and headed out on the boats. We sent most of Saturday mid morning and afternoon on the lake, just riding then swimming. So much fun.

Sunday we got u to very strong winds and soon realized that Hurricane Ike was coming up on us quickly. Now we usually don't have to worry about hurricanes here in Indiana. But it was here. The wind was like something I have never seen. It was like it is when we usually have tornadoes but it was sustained. We drove home very slowly, fighting the wind the whole time, watching for things flying around.

We get home and lose our electricity. We lost it about 2 pm and did not have power again until 4:30 the next morning. Thankfully we didn't have any damage but there are lots and lots of trees down around us.

Am just thankful we made it home safely.

And I am thankful you made it home safely too. Ike was felt by a lot of people in a lot of places. We got it Sunday night. Our power was only out about 10 hours, not bad compared to many others.
Glad you had a great time...blessings to you.

Elisha,

Your trip sounds like fun. Even though no electricity was fun for you, I bet Dean thought it was exciting. Our electricity went off at 1:30 a.m. Sunday and we did not get it back on until Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Even Arkansas saw some Ike!
